Just wondering, what is the idea behind your shop? What is it you are good at? Just wondering since your special offers are priced the same or higher than the regular prices in one of the other shops close to yours.

Hi, Are

I hope you do not think that is is a bad think that there are more then 1 or 2 dealers in northern europe.. The only thing that can come out of that is a better service and better prices - since there is more competition. I know very well that I am not the biggest - which meens that I need to give the best service possible - this meens fast answers on requests and questions - as well as fast shipping. These are some of the things that I take very seriously.

But besides form that - I have not seen any shop in Europe with 44's and 555's at EUR 1,99 for 10 bulbs (including taxex and all..). If you have - then please send me a link - and I will lower the price. (these are some of the things which happends when there is more competition :)

But - since you are from Norway - I fully understand that you see no point in buying in Denmark (because of Norway not being in EU). But I hope I have not affended you by being in the market.

Kind regards

Morten

Thank you Morten,

I was actually genuinely interrested in what you just wrote. I think it is great that there are more shops to choose from.

To me it seems you allways tend to focus on a few "nice price items" when you advert for your shop.  So my thought through the short questions was that it might be a good idea to also focus on more than just price.

I think the special prices are fine also, I was only reacting to them sice they are specials and still not being particularily lower that regular offerings in the other shops.

Like you said I am from Norway and for that shop it was not totally comparable - #44 sells in 1 or 100, not 10. For 1x10 it seems to total to € 0,51 more, while as for 100/10 it seems to total to €0,1 less - given 25% tax.

None of the above mentioned differences in prices would have made me prefer one shop in front of the other - as to my point again asking what besides prices could be of interrest when choosing where to place an order .

I hope I was able to clear up a bit my intentions for asking :)

Hi, Are

Thank you for clearing up your intentions :)

I know that prices does not do it alone - but it's a well choosen penetration strategy which I have given many thoughts. Since it is going to take me a long time to get all the items that the other shops have (which I fully know is one of the big points when people choose were to buy parts) - I need to focus on something else - at least in the beginning. And my hope is that when people fell that I provid a good service (and have as low fright costs as I possible can..) - that they will come back. And it slowly seems to work.

My next step is to try an get items that other shops do not have ei. (I already have DVD's and books (and more is in the pipeline) - I hope this will improve my shop as well.

I also have some gimmicks im mind - which I think you will hear of shortly.

But I can tell you that it is the "love" for pinball machines which drives the shop - not money (when that was the point - I should find something else to sell..) But since I together with my buddy shop 2 - 3 machines every month - it is quite handy to have a shop in your own house :)

Hope this clears up my intentions :)

Kind regards

Morten

In my opinion the key to success is a large supply.

It doesn’t really matter if someone has an item a few SEK cheaper than someone else if I can’t get all I need at the same time.

A very typical example of this is the trend towards large shopping malls instead of many small shops scattered all over town. As a consumer it’s simply convenient to buy everything at the same time at one location.
The same applies when I buy my pinball parts. I don’t want to order from three different online stores if I can get all I need from one.

Regarding delivery time there is very little difference between suppliers these days. Everyone delivers within a couple of days so there isn’t much to gain in that area. Also for me it doesn’t rally matter if it takes 3 or 4 days.

That’s my two cent on this matter.
Quit playing with the clock!

Hello,

I fully agree with the statement of Bundy.

I have had this discussion a couple of times with another Pinball-part-supplier.

I said to him: - I would like you have the small cheap items like screws and nuts... and also the difficult and/or expensive parts. This would probably make me buy all my things at 1 place - EVEN IF IT MAKES THE PRISE A LITTLE BIT MORE EXPENSIVE.

Det är min personliga åsikt.

Skall man däremot ha 5 st. nya DMD, så är det klart man kollar var priset - med frakt, är billigast.

Kolla in denna och läs NOGA!

HI, again

I fully agree that a large selection is important - but it is very expensive to start up with everything from day 1.

As I said earlier - you do not earn much selling pinball parts, so you will have a hard time leving of it.

I can say that the setup I have now has set me back 125.000 DKK (shop and parts) - and hundreds of spare time hours. For me that is a lot of money and hours.

To be able to carrie all parts from day 1 would have set me back at least 500.000 DKK - how many can afford that? If you have that kind of money there are 100 better ways of spending it. You have to love pinball to get into this business..

But of my goal is to have 90% of all stock within 3 years - so I am slowely getting there.

I am just telling these things to clarifie what the consequences are if the goal is to have all parts from day one.

I thing that almost every business start up "small" - and grow from there - at least thats what I hope with my small business.

Kind regards

Morten

Keep up the good work Morten!

One shop in DK, one in NO and one in SE are not to many. Every shop is slightly different, both in product range and prices. A quick check for some parts showed your shop cheaper on some parts and slightly more expensive on some. I order from DE, SE, NO and US and would not hesitate to order from Denmark as well next time I order. (I have ordered computer parts from Denmark in the past...)
I don't mind order from several different online shops. If I want a quick delivery -shop A. If I want a better price - shop B. If I want a certain part - then it has to be shop C.
Of course everybody wants to buy from the shop that has all the stuff at the lowest price but that shop does not exist yet, and never will...
Shopping malls that carry a wide range of products are sooooo boring.

EDIT: grammatiken...
